I am taking part in a UK wide project researching the presence of microplastics in our waters. I will cover The River Bann Estuary and the Lough Foyle Estuary in Northern Ireland. My part is very small in a much bigger picture headed by Laura Owen Saunderson and Dr Christian Dunn.
Samples of water will be collected all over the UK and sent to a lab for testing. Every little helps in the fight to protect our waters against pollution. I was honoured to have been asked to take part.
