Al has extensive experience in front of the camera, having appeared in documentaries, news features, commercial campaigns, and advertising productions since the mid-1990s. He regularly works as himself, as a model, and in character across a wide range of creative and commercial projects.

His work includes lead and principal roles in commercial and promotional campaigns connected to major brands and entertainment franchises, including the Game of Thrones Studio Tour, as well as campaigns for Guinness, Airbnb, Johnson & Johnson, Discover Ireland, Tourism Northern Ireland, Volvo, Hughes Insurance, and other Irish, UK, and European organisations. This work has been used across broadcast, digital, print, outdoor, and point-of-sale platforms.

Al has played lead roles in commercial campaigns, including portraying the central character in an advertising campaign for Pike Man Brewing and presenting a major Airbnb campaign used across multiple platforms.

In addition to on-camera work, Al has produced multiple audiobooks and undertaken commercial voiceover work, with experience working in professional recording studios.

​

He has also worked in a stunt capacity, including performing stunt work for Kristofer Hivju on a television production.

​

Alongside commercial and performance work, Al has appeared in numerous documentary productions since the 1990s in his capacity as a professional surfer, involving extensive on-camera interviews and factual television internationally.

Al is highly experienced and comfortable working on set, with production teams, and in physically demanding or performance-based environments.
