At the age of 13, in early 1990’s Northern Ireland, the dream of becoming a Big Wave Surfer seemed far fetched to everyone but little red headed Al Mennie.   Mesmerised by the Big Wave Surfers of California, Al proclaimed “I want to do that someday, I want to ride those big waves”. From that moment, the dream manifested into a journey of self development, overcoming loss, doubt, taking action and ultimately becoming calm in the chaos of wild conditions. This is a humble story of belief, of honour and of pursuing one’s dreams into the unknown.
