Al Mennie is a professional big-wave surfer and author from Northern Ireland. His books explore surfing, adventure, night swimming, resilience and life beside the sea, drawing on his own experiences in and around the water.

His work includes The Nazaré Notebook, Night Swimming, Surfing Many Waves and Escape to the Wild Dark Sea. His independently published titles appear under his imprint, Manannan Publishing Ireland.
